Dogs are one of the most loyal animals in the world
This is the story of Krym, a dog living in Ukraine.
After the war began, Krym’s family decided to move from Dnipro in the east to an area where their grandmother lived. This was a safer place in the private sector.
However, the new home did not provide the safety they sought.
Their house was completely destroyed by a Russian missile attack. The entire family lost their lives: Alla, the grandmother Alla, mother Natasha, daughter Vasilisa, son Ivan, and their other dog, Jack.
The rescue service arrived at the scene to find the house in ruins and the 12-year-old dog Krym sitting atop them, howling.
Krym was rescued by local zoo volunteers. The missile strike left him concussed, partially blind, and deaf. He was also diagnosed with a tumor and heart failure. Initially, Krym did not react to anything and behaved aggressively. Later, his condition improved, but his longing for loved ones led to heart failure.
Although he is no longer with us, the citizens of Dnipro would like to create a memorial in his honor as a symbol of his faithful mourning.
